While not known as a pike hotspot, the Chagrin does hold a population of these ambush predators, offering a unique angling experience close to Cleveland. Spring is prime time as the pike move into shallower, weedy areas to spawn, making them more accessible. Early mornings and late evenings are generally best. A key to success here is understanding the river's structure. Look for areas with submerged logs, fallen trees, and overhanging vegetation – classic pike habitat.
