If yellow perch are on your mind, the waters around Two Harbors offer some excellent opportunities. Focus your efforts on the shallower lakes and bays connected to Lake Superior. Spring and fall are generally the best times, when perch are actively feeding in preparation for spawning or winter. Look for areas with submerged vegetation, docks, or other structure. A simple jig tipped with a minnow or worm is a classic and effective presentation. Experiment with different colors and jigging techniques to find what the fish are biting. Local wisdom suggests targeting areas near creek mouths or inflows, as these often attract perch. Access to many of these areas is available from shore or by small boat. Be mindful of the wind, as Lake Superior can create challenging conditions even on smaller connected lakes.
