If you're looking for some beautiful, stream-bred Rainbow Trout, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania offers some excellent opportunities. The area is known for its network of smaller, spring-fed creeks that stay cool even during the warmer months, making them ideal trout habitat. The best time to target rainbows here is during the spring and fall, particularly after a light rain when the fish are more active. Many of these streams are stocked, but you'll also find wild populations in the more remote sections. A great place to start is the Conococheague Creek, which has both stocked and wild trout.
