While Wyalusing itself doesn't have readily accessible, heavily stocked Rainbow Trout waters, it serves as a convenient starting point for exploring trout streams in the surrounding region of Pennsylvania. Several smaller creeks and streams within a short drive of Wyalusing are stocked with rainbow trout by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Spring is the best time to target these freshly stocked trout, though some hold over throughout the summer and fall. Look for deeper pools, riffles, and runs where trout tend to congregate. Standard trout fishing tactics, such as using small spinners, worms, or artificial flies, will work well.
