Rainbow Trout

While Beaux Arts Village isn't typically associated with prime trout fishing, Lake Washington does offer some opportunities for targeting planted Rainbow Trout, especially during the cooler months. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) stocks Lake Washington with catchable-sized rainbows periodically. Check the WDFW stocking reports to find out when and where trout have been recently released. Focus your efforts near these stocking locations, particularly in the weeks following a plant. Trolling with small spoons or spinners is a popular technique, as is fishing with bait under a bobber. The best time to target these trout is typically in the spring and fall when water temperatures are cooler. Look for areas near inlets or drop-offs. Access to Lake Washington is readily available via numerous public boat launches and shoreline access points around Beaux Arts Village. A Washington State fishing license is required.
