Targeting Red Snapper around Holmes Beach means venturing into the Gulf of Mexico, where structure is key. The artificial reefs and natural hard bottom areas hold the most promise, but be sure to consult updated regulations, as seasons and size limits can be strict. Summer is prime time, but even then, the bite can be finicky. Natural presentations, like live or cut bait, are often the most successful. Don't be afraid to experiment with depth, as Red Snapper will move up and down the water column depending on the current and forage. A helpful hint: Many anglers launch from the Kingfish Boat Ramp, but it can get crowded, especially on weekends. Consider using a fish finder to locate less-pressured spots away from the main reefs.
