Spring and fall are the best times to target these fish, as they move inshore to spawn and feed on baitfish. Focus your efforts around marshy areas, oyster reefs, and points where currents converge. A local's trick is to fish the Biloxi Bay Bridge pilings during tide changes – redfish often ambush prey in these areas. When fishing, remember that Gulfport redfish can be picky eaters, so experiment with different baits and presentations. Live shrimp, mullet, and crabs are always good choices, but artificial lures, such as soft plastics and spoons, can also be effective.
