Looking for some light-tackle fun in Point Judith? Spot are a great option, providing consistent action, especially for families and beginner anglers. These small, pan-sized fish are plentiful in the Narragansett Bay and its surrounding estuaries. The best time to target them is during the warmer months, from late spring through early fall. Focus your efforts around docks, pilings, and shallow, grassy areas. They are not particularly fussy eaters and will readily take small pieces of bait such as bloodworms, squid, or clam. A simple bottom rig with a small hook and a split shot is all you need. Galilee is a good starting point, with plenty of shore access and nearby tackle shops.
