While Largemouth Bass get much of the attention around Orlando, the spotted bass offers a fun and challenging alternative, although they are not as prolific as largemouth in this region. Targeting spots requires a slightly different approach. Look for them in the deeper, clearer waters of the Butler Chain of Lakes, particularly near docks, submerged brush piles, and rocky points. These bass prefer cooler water and are often found holding near structure. A Carolina rig with a finesse worm or a small crankbait can be effective.
