Striped Bass

Lakeview, Alabama, provides access to some exciting striped bass fishing on Logan Martin Lake. Unlike some other locations, Logan Martin offers a good mix of natural reproduction and stocking, resulting in a decent population of stripers. The cooler months (October-April) are generally the most productive, as the stripers are more active in cooler water. Target them by trolling with large crankbaits or live bait (shad) in the main lake channels and near the dam. Early mornings and late evenings are prime times. A helpful local tip is to monitor the water temperature, as stripers tend to move deeper as the water warms up. The Logans Ferry boat ramp provides convenient access to the lower end of the lake.
