Striped Bass

While Clarksdale, Mississippi, isn't traditionally known as a striped bass hotspot, the occasional striper does make its way into the local waterways connected to the Mississippi River system. Live bait, such as shad or shiners, fished near structure or drop-offs can be effective. Be prepared to cover a lot of water and don't be surprised if you encounter other species. Check local fishing reports for any recent striper sightings. Access points along the Sunflower River offer some potential to intercept these fish, but remember that striper fishing here is more of a bonus than a guarantee.
