Striped Bass

Rye Beach offers excellent access to some of New Hampshire's best Striped Bass fishing. The rocky coastline and proximity to the Piscataqua River make it a prime location. Focus your efforts around rocky outcroppings, jetties, and the mouth of the river. Spring and fall are the peak migration periods, but summer can also produce if you target early mornings or late evenings. Live eels are a local favorite, especially fished around the rocks. Casting topwater lures at dawn and dusk can also be incredibly exciting. Be aware of the strong currents and rocky bottom; sturdy tackle is essential. A practical tip is to scout the area at low tide to identify potential snags and structure. While trophy fish are possible, the average striper in this area is a respectable size, offering a good fight. Remember to check regulations regarding size and bag limits before heading out.
