Striped Bass

If you're after striped bass in the Mooresville, North Carolina area, Lake Norman is your primary destination. This large reservoir offers excellent striper fishing, particularly during the spring and fall when water temperatures are moderate. Focus your efforts around points, humps, and submerged structures, as these areas tend to hold baitfish and attract stripers. During the summer, stripers often move deeper to find cooler water, so trolling with downriggers can be effective. A key local tactic is to use live bait, such as blueback herring, when available.
