If you're after walleye near Branson West, your best bet is heading to either Table Rock Lake or Bull Shoals Lake. These reservoirs are known for their healthy walleye populations. The fall and early spring are particularly productive times. Walleye tend to concentrate near points and drop-offs, especially those with rocky bottoms. Trolling crankbaits or using jigging spoons are effective tactics. A local tip: on Table Rock, focus your efforts around the dam area, especially during periods of low light. The current from the dam can concentrate baitfish and attract walleye. On Bull Shoals, try fishing near the Theodosia arm. Also, pay attention to water clarity; walleye tend to prefer slightly stained water. The walleye in these lakes are known for being relatively large, with some reaching trophy sizes.
