While the Grand River isn't typically known as a walleye hotspot, targeting them near Grand River, Ohio, can yield surprising results if you know where to look. Focus your efforts on the lower reaches of the river, closer to Lake Erie, especially during the spring and fall spawning runs. Walleye will migrate up the river from the lake to spawn or feed. Look for deeper holes and current breaks where walleye might be holding. Jigging with minnows or plastics is a productive technique in these areas.
