White Bass

For fast-action white bass fishing in Kentucky, head to Columbia and explore Green River Lake. This lake provides an excellent habitat for white bass, particularly during their spring spawning runs up the Green River and its tributaries. The early spring, from late March through April, is when they concentrate in the river. Use small jigs, spinners, or crankbaits to target them in areas with current. Once the spawn is over, they'll school up in the main lake, often near points and submerged humps. Keep an eye out for surface activity, as they often chase shad to the surface. The Hwy 55 bridge provides good bank access. White bass are known for their aggressive strikes and schooling behavior, making for some exciting fishing.
