White Bass

Osage Beach is a prime location for chasing White Bass, especially in the spring as they make their spawning runs up the Osage River and its tributaries flowing into the Lake of the Ozarks. Focus your efforts around areas with current, such as the mouths of creeks and the dam itself. Shad-imitating crankbaits and inline spinners are effective when the fish are actively feeding. As the water warms, white bass will move deeper, so adjust your presentation accordingly. A local tip is to check water clarity reports, as stained water can concentrate fish. Public access is readily available at numerous boat ramps around the lake, but be prepared for heavier boat traffic during peak season.
