White Bass

White bass fishing near Bailey, Texas, hinges on finding the right conditions in the nearby waterways. While Bailey isn't directly on a major river system known for white bass runs, Lake Lavon, a short drive away, can provide excellent opportunities during the spring spawning run. Typically, late February through April is when the white bass migrate upstream to spawn. Focus on the creeks and river inlets of Lavon; these areas concentrate the fish. Small jigs, crankbaits, and inline spinners are effective lures. A local tip: check the local fishing reports before you go. If Lavon is experiencing high water conditions, the white bass run can be exceptional, as they'll move further upstream into smaller creeks.
