Chumming is key to attracting these fish to your boat, so bring plenty of bait and be prepared to create a feeding frenzy. Focus your efforts on the patch reefs and deeper reef structures, where Yellowtail congregate. Light tackle is ideal for targeting Yellowtail, as it allows you to feel their subtle bites. A local tip: try using a long fluorocarbon leader to minimize spooking the fish in clear water. Also, be mindful of the current, as it can quickly carry your chum and bait away from the target area. Fresh shrimp and small jigs are effective baits.
