Brown Trout

While Cicero isn't known for its trout streams, determined anglers can find stocked brown trout in some nearby lakes and rivers. Check the IDNR's website for the most up-to-date stocking reports. Look for deeper, cooler waters that can hold trout even during the warmer months. Spring and fall are the best times to target these fish, as water temperatures are more favorable. Small spinners, spoons, and live bait like worms or minnows can be effective. A local tip: brown trout are often more active at dawn and dusk, so plan your fishing trips accordingly.
