The best time to target browns is typically in the spring and fall, when water temperatures are cooler and the fish are more active. Look for stream inlets and areas with rocky bottoms or submerged logs. Fly fishing with nymphs or streamers can be effective, as can spin fishing with small spoons or spinners. A local tip: Some smaller streams are best accessed by foot, so be prepared for some hiking. Be aware of stream regulations, as some sections may have catch-and-release restrictions or specific gear requirements.
