Brown trout fishing in the Tillamook area isn't as widely known as the rainbow trout fishery, but the Kilchis River and its tributaries hold a modest population. These browns aren't stocked and are primarily self-sustaining, so treat them with respect. Small spinners, spoons, and dry flies can be effective. Access to the Kilchis River can be a bit challenging in some areas, requiring some hiking along the riverbank. The brown trout in this area are typically smaller in size, but their wild nature and the scenic surroundings make for a rewarding fishing experience.
