Channel Catfish

Brandsville, Missouri, nestled in the Ozarks, provides a great setting for targeting Channel Catfish. The numerous rivers and streams in the region, like portions of the Eleven Point River, offer excellent habitat. Look for catfish in deep holes, near submerged logs, and along undercut banks. Spring and summer are the best times to fish for catfish, especially after a good rain when the water is slightly turbid. Using stinkbaits, cut bait, or nightcrawlers on a simple slip-sinker rig is a proven method. Many anglers also find success with jug fishing, particularly on larger stretches of the Eleven Point.
