Crappie fishing near Bullhead City means heading to Lake Mohave. This reservoir on the Colorado River offers excellent crappie habitat, especially around submerged brush and man-made structures. Spring is prime time, as the crappie move into shallower waters to spawn. However, you can find them throughout the year by adjusting your tactics. During the warmer months, look for them in deeper water near submerged trees or under docks. Small jigs and minnows are the go-to baits. A depth finder is invaluable for locating schools of crappie. A local tip: many anglers have success fishing around the Christmas Tree area, a known crappie hotspot. Keep an eye on water clarity, as crappie prefer clearer water.
