Catfish

Catfish in the Bullhead City area offer a diverse and exciting fishing experience. The Colorado River and Lake Mohave both hold healthy populations of Channel, Flathead, and even some Blue Catfish. For Channel Catfish, try fishing the river with stinkbaits, nightcrawlers, or cut bait. Flatheads prefer live bait, such as bluegill or carp, fished near submerged logs or rocky structures. Lake Mohave is known for its larger Flatheads. Summer nights are ideal for targeting catfish, as they become more active in the cooler temperatures. Be prepared for some heavy lifting, as these fish can grow to impressive sizes. A sturdy rod and reel are essential. Don't overlook the power plant outflow on the river, as the warmer water can attract catfish, especially during the colder months. Shore access is available at various points along the river, but a boat opens up more fishing opportunities.
