Flounder

Texas City is a known destination for flounder anglers, especially during the fall migration. These flatfish move into the bay systems before heading offshore to spawn. Focus your efforts around the mouths of bayous, channels, and any area with a muddy or sandy bottom. Live mud minnows or finger mullet are excellent bait choices. Slowly dragging your bait along the bottom is a proven technique. The Texas City Dike is a popular spot, but don't overlook the smaller bayous and canals that feed into Galveston Bay. Water clarity is crucial for flounder fishing, so try to fish on days with clear water. Be patient and persistent, as flounder can be masters of camouflage.
