Provincetown offers some fantastic fluke fishing opportunities, particularly during the summer months. The waters surrounding the Cape are known for their abundance of this prized flatfish. Focus your efforts on sandy bottom areas with slight current, especially near channels and drop-offs. Drifting with bucktails tipped with squid or Gulp! artificials is a highly effective technique. Pay attention to the tide; fluke often feed more actively during moving water. Popular spots include the waters off Race Point and Herring Cove. Boat access is readily available from Provincetown Harbor, but kayak anglers can also find success in the calmer bays. Be mindful of the depth, as fluke can be found in relatively shallow water as well as deeper channels. Remember to use a stinger hook to increase your hook-up ratio, as fluke are notorious for short strikes.
