Largemouth Bass

Avoca, Arkansas, provides access to some excellent largemouth bass fishing in the Ozark region. Beaver Lake, a large reservoir nearby, is the primary draw. This clear-water lake offers a diverse range of habitats, from rocky bluffs to submerged timber, catering to various fishing styles. Spring and fall are peak seasons, with the spawn in the spring and pre-winter feeding frenzy in the fall. During the spring, target shallow coves and points with spinnerbaits, crankbaits, or soft plastics. In the fall, focus on deeper structure with jigs, Carolina rigs, or deep-diving crankbaits. A local tip: Pay attention to the thermocline during the summer months, as bass will often congregate just above it. Beaver Lake has numerous boat ramps and access points, making it easy to explore different areas of the lake. The largemouth bass population is healthy, with opportunities to catch both numbers and size.
