Largemouth Bass

Beebe, Arkansas offers some solid largemouth bass fishing, though it's often overshadowed by the larger, more famous lakes in the state. The key here is to focus on the smaller, more intimate waters. Think community lakes, farm ponds (with permission, of course!), and the backwaters of the Little Red River. Spring and fall are your best bets. During the spring spawn (March-May), target shallow, protected coves with visible structure. In the fall, as the water cools, bass will be actively feeding to prepare for winter. A local tip: Don't overlook the power of a Texas-rigged worm or a spinnerbait worked around submerged timber. Many of these smaller waters have heavy vegetation and woody debris, so weedless presentations are essential.
