Largemouth Bass

Caddo Valley offers some fantastic largemouth bass fishing, primarily in the Ouachita River and Lake DeGray. Lake DeGray, in particular, is known for its clear waters and abundant structure, creating ideal habitat for bass. Spring and fall are prime times; the pre-spawn activity in early spring and the feeding frenzy before winter are when the big ones are most active. Consider using crankbaits and spinnerbaits around submerged timber and rocky points. During the summer months, switch to slower presentations like Texas-rigged worms or Carolina rigs in deeper water. A local tip: the area near the dam on Lake DeGray is often productive. Be aware that water levels can fluctuate, so check the lake levels before heading out. The bass here can be quite aggressive, so be prepared for some exciting fights!
