Largemouth Bass

Fisher, Arkansas, while a small town, is surrounded by fertile bass fishing territory. The region is characterized by numerous oxbow lakes and slow-moving rivers connected to the larger Mississippi River system. These waterways provide ideal habitat for largemouth bass. Spring and fall are generally considered the best times to target largemouth, as they are more active during these periods. Focus on areas with submerged timber, lily pads, and other vegetation, as these provide cover for bass and ambush points for feeding. Local anglers often have success with spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Access to some of these waterways can be limited, so be prepared to explore and potentially utilize smaller boats or kayaks. Farm ponds, with permission, can also hold surprisingly large bass.
