Largemouth Bass

Green Forest, Arkansas, offers some excellent largemouth bass fishing in the Ozark foothills. Bull Shoals Lake, a short drive away, is a primary destination, known for its clear waters and abundant structure. Beaver Lake is another option. Spring and fall are prime times to target bass here, as they move into shallower waters to spawn or feed before winter. Look for rocky points, submerged timber, and weed beds. A local tip: Pay attention to water clarity; on clearer days, use more natural-looking lures and lighter line. On cloudier days or in stained water, brighter colors and lures with more vibration can be more effective. Bull Shoals bass tend to be on the larger side, with good numbers of 3-5 pound fish and the occasional lunker. Public access is readily available at various boat ramps around both lakes.
