Largemouth Bass

Mountain Home, Arkansas, offers fantastic largemouth bass fishing, especially on Bull Shoals Lake and Norfork Lake. These clear, deep reservoirs require a strategic approach. Spring and fall are the prime times, with bass moving shallow to spawn in the spring and feeding heavily before winter in the fall. During the summer, focus on deeper structure with Carolina rigs or deep-diving crankbaits. A local tip: pay close attention to the thermocline, as bass will often congregate just above it. The largemouth in these lakes are known for being relatively line shy due to the clear water, so use fluorocarbon leaders and finesse techniques. Numerous boat ramps and access points are available around both lakes, but be prepared for varying water levels, especially on Bull Shoals.
