During the spring spawn, focus on the shallower coves and backwaters of Crooked Creek. In the fall, as the water cools, the bass will be actively feeding in preparation for winter. For Crooked Creek, a kayak or canoe is ideal for navigating the creek. Access points are limited, so scout ahead for put-in spots. Largemouth in this region tend to be opportunistic feeders, so spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and plastic worms are all effective choices. The bass population can be pressured, so try varying your presentations to find what the fish are responding to on any given day.
