Largemouth Bass

Subiaco, Arkansas, nestled near the Ouachita National Forest, offers some excellent largemouth bass fishing in its numerous small lakes and ponds. While not a trophy bass factory, these waters are known for producing consistent action and healthy fish. Spring is undoubtedly the best time to target largemouth here, as they move shallow to spawn. Spinnerbaits and crankbaits worked along the shoreline can be highly effective. In the summer, focus on deeper structure with Carolina rigs or Texas rigs. A great place to start is Lake Dardanelle, easily accessible and known for its diverse bass habitat. Local anglers often have success flipping jigs around submerged timber. Don't overlook smaller, unnamed ponds in the area; many hold surprisingly good bass populations. Remember to check local regulations regarding size and creel limits.
