Largemouth Bass

If you're looking for largemouth bass fishing near Jerome, Idaho, you'll need to focus on the smaller lakes and reservoirs in the area. While not known as a bass fishing hotspot, there are still opportunities to catch them. Dierkes Lake and some of the smaller irrigation reservoirs can hold bass. Spring and early summer are typically the best times to target bass, as they move into shallower water to spawn. Look for structure such as weed beds, submerged timber, and rocky points. Plastic worms, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits are all effective lures. Access to some of these waters can be limited, so be sure to check for public access points and respect private property. The bass population in these waters is generally not as large as in more southern states, but you can still find some decent-sized fish.
