Largemouth Bass

Boyne City, Michigan, is a fantastic base for largemouth bass fishing, primarily due to its proximity to Lake Charlevoix and several smaller inland lakes. Summer brings the fish into deeper weedlines and near structure, where crankbaits and jigs excel. Fall can be excellent, with bass aggressively feeding before winter. A key local tip is to focus on the south arm of Lake Charlevoix, which tends to warm up faster in the spring. Also, be aware of the mayfly hatch in late spring/early summer, which can temporarily shut down the bass bite.
