Largemouth Bass

For Largemouth Bass anglers visiting the western side of Michigan, New Era provides access to several smaller inland lakes and ponds that can hold some surprisingly good bass. While not as well-known as some of the larger lakes further south, these hidden gems offer a more secluded fishing experience. The best time to target Largemouth here is from late spring through early fall, when the water temperatures are conducive to bass activity. Focus on areas with plenty of cover, such as lily pads, submerged logs, and weed beds. A local tip for fishing around New Era is to try using topwater lures early in the morning or late in the evening, when the bass are more likely to be feeding near the surface. Many of these smaller lakes have limited public access, so be sure to research boat launch locations and any associated fees or restrictions beforehand.
