The Looking Glass is particularly interesting, offering a mix of slow-moving stretches and faster riffles, holding bass in various ambush points. Focus on areas with submerged logs, overhanging vegetation, and deeper pools. The best time to target largemouth here is during the spring spawn, typically late May into June. Look for bedding bass in shallow, protected areas. A good access point is the Riverside Park in St. Johns, which provides access to the Looking Glass River. Later in the summer, try fishing deeper with crankbaits or Texas-rigged worms around submerged structure. The bass in this area tend to be aggressive, so don't be afraid to experiment with different lures and retrieve speeds.
