Largemouth Bass

Miltona, Minnesota, is a Largemouth Bass paradise, thanks to its numerous pristine lakes like Lake Miltona itself. These waters boast abundant weed beds, clear water (for Minnesota!), and diverse structure, creating ideal habitat. The bass here are known for their aggressive strikes and healthy sizes. Spring (late May-June) is prime time as the bass move shallow to spawn. Fall (September-October) is also excellent as they feed heavily before winter. For Lake Miltona, the public access on the west side is well-maintained, but can get busy on weekends. Try fishing the weed edges with weedless soft plastics or topwater frogs during low-light conditions. A local tip: pay attention to water temperature, as even slight changes can concentrate the fish.
