Largemouth Bass

If you're heading to Anoka, Nebraska, targeting largemouth bass can be rewarding, especially in the area's smaller lakes and ponds. These waters, often overlooked, provide ideal habitat for bass to thrive. Spring (late April-May) and fall (September-October) are prime times, as the bass are actively feeding in preparation for spawning or winter. During summer, focus on early mornings or late evenings to avoid the midday heat. A local tip: many of these smaller lakes have limited public access, so be sure to scout access points beforehand, using county road maps. Also, the bass here can be a bit finicky, so experiment with your presentation. Try slow-rolling a spinnerbait along weed edges or flipping a jig into heavy cover.
