Largemouth Bass

Spring and fall are prime times, as the bass move shallow to spawn or feed aggressively before winter. Look for submerged structure, weed beds, and points in the local lakes. A key tip is to focus on areas with current, even subtle current, in the river sections. This concentrates baitfish and subsequently the bass. Public access can be limited in some areas, so be sure to check local regulations and respect private property. Also, the bass here tend to be opportunistic feeders, so a variety of lures and techniques can be effective, from crankbaits and spinnerbaits to jigs and Texas-rigged worms.
