Largemouth Bass

Don't overlook Brooklawn, New Jersey, as a place to find some decent largemouth bass fishing. While not a destination fishery, the local ponds, creeks, and sections of the Big Timber Creek hold populations of bass that can provide a fun day on the water. Focus your efforts in the spring and fall when the bass are most active. During the warmer summer months, early morning and late evening are your best bets. Look for bass around docks, fallen trees, and weed beds. Soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits are all effective lure choices. Access to some areas may be limited, so be sure to research public access points and obtain permission before fishing on private property. The bass here aren't known for their size, but the opportunity to catch fish in a relatively urban setting makes it a worthwhile option for local anglers.
