Largemouth Bass

Lincoln Park offers some decent largemouth bass fishing opportunities in its freshwater bodies. While not a trophy bass destination, the Passaic River and nearby smaller lakes and ponds hold populations of bass that can provide a fun day of fishing. Targeting bass in the spring during the pre-spawn and spawn is highly effective. Focus on shallow water areas with vegetation, docks, or other structures. Summer can also be productive, especially during early morning or late evening hours when the bass move into shallower water to feed. Plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits are all good lure choices. For river fishing, target areas with current breaks or submerged cover. Be mindful of water levels and clarity, as these can affect bass activity. Public access varies, so research specific locations beforehand.
