Largemouth Bass

Linwood offers some decent largemouth bass fishing opportunities in the network of freshwater ponds and creeks that dot the area. While not as well-known as some of the larger lakes further inland, these smaller bodies of water can hold surprisingly good numbers of bass. The best time to target largemouth in Linwood is during the spring spawning season and again in the fall as they fatten up for winter. Look for bass around docks, lily pads, and submerged vegetation. A local tip: use weedless lures, such as Texas-rigged worms or frogs, as the vegetation can be thick. Many of these ponds are accessible from public parks or roadside access points, but always respect private property. The largemouth in these smaller waters often have a darker coloration due to the tannin-rich water, and they can be quite aggressive when feeding.
