Largemouth Bass

Zebulon, NC, while not immediately known for trophy bass, offers consistent largemouth bass fishing in several nearby lakes and ponds. The key is to focus on smaller, less pressured waters. Bass ambush prey from these weedy areas, so flipping jigs or throwing soft plastics along the edges can be highly effective. Remember to downsize your presentation if the fish are finicky. Also, be aware of the dense vegetation and potential for getting snagged; heavier line may be necessary. The bass in these smaller waters can be surprisingly strong, so be prepared for a good fight.
