Largemouth Bass

Union City, Tennessee, is a great base for pursuing largemouth bass, with several nearby lakes and reservoirs offering diverse fishing opportunities. Reelfoot Lake, a short drive away, is renowned for its unique flooded forest environment and abundant bass population. The best time to target largemouth here is during the spring and fall, when the fish are most active. During the spawn (late March/early April), focus on shallow bays and shoreline vegetation. As the water warms, move to deeper structure like submerged timber and weed lines. In the fall, bass often school up and can be caught using crankbaits and spinnerbaits. A local tip: Reelfoot Lake is known for its cypress trees and stumps, which provide excellent cover for bass, but also create potential snags. Use weedless rigs and be prepared to lose some tackle.
