If you're looking for Northern Pike in West Michigan, Hesperia is a great base of operations. The numerous lakes in the area, many connected by rivers and streams, provide excellent habitat for these aggressive predators. Look to lakes like Big Blue Lake or Pickerel Lake, known for their weedy shallows and structure. Spring is an ideal time, as the pike are often found in shallow bays after spawning. Fall is another excellent period, as they actively feed to prepare for winter. A practical tip for fishing these waters: use weedless lures or rigs, as the vegetation can be thick.
