Northern Pike

Northern Pike in the Richmond, Michigan area can be found in the Clinton River and its connected lakes and backwaters. While the river itself can hold pike, the best fishing is often found in the slower-moving, weedy sections and connected lakes. Pike fishing is best in the spring and fall when the water temperatures are cooler. In the spring, target shallow bays and weed beds where pike are spawning. In the fall, pike are actively feeding to prepare for winter, so look for them near baitfish schools. A local tip: try using large spinnerbaits or crankbaits in these areas. Public access is available at several locations along the Clinton River, and there are boat launches on some of the connected lakes.
