Northern Pike

If you're after northern pike near Wixom, Michigan, Kent Lake within Kensington Metropark offers a good opportunity to tangle with these toothy predators. Pike love weedy areas and ambush points, so target areas with thick vegetation, submerged logs, and drop-offs. Spring (March-April) is an excellent time, as pike are often found in shallower bays after spawning. Large spinnerbaits, spoons, and crankbaits are effective lures. Dead bait presentations can also work well, especially in the colder months. A key tip: use a wire leader to prevent pike from biting through your line.
